Melissa Burleson became a valued member of Tarrant County’s Credit Union in 2006, driven by her deep-rooted belief in the credit union philosophy of people helping people. With a passionate commitment, Melissa dedicates herself to educating and empowering credit union members in achieving their financial goals and encourages others to advance their careers in the credit union industry. She serves tirelessly in representing TCCU and the movement, both as an employee and a volunteer.
Recognized for her outstanding dedication, Melissa was bestowed with the prestigious title of Southwest CUNA Management School Alumnus of the Year in 2023. Her journey includes achieving the status of Honor Graduate from Southwest CUNA Management School class of 2019, receiving the esteemed Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions Distinguished Service Award to the Credit Union Movement in 2018, and being honored as the Young Professional of the Year by the Cornerstone Credit Union League in 2017. Melissa's commitment to personal growth led her to earn her Credit Union Development Educator designation in 2015.
Her leadership extends beyond accolades as she is actively engaged in various roles such as serving as the President of Southwest CUNA Management Schools Alumni Association from 2019 to 2022 and holding Advisory positions on distinguished boards, including the Cornerstone League Board from 2022-2023 and Cornerstone Foundation Board since 2023. Melissa’s dedication to her community and industry is unwavering, evident in her roles as Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions Director and previous tenure as Chapter Treasurer, United Way of Tarrant County Steering Committee, and various positions on other boards and committees.
Melissa is a true believer in people, in opportunities and second chances, in giving back, in contributing however she can, and in credit unions and all they stand for. When it comes to credit unions and the industry, she is all in, all the time.
Melissa has a servant heart and prides herself in leading by example and hopes to be an inspiration to others, especially her fourteen-year-old son Landon.
