Engagement & Community Development Manager

Melissa Burleson joined Tarrant County’s Credit Union in 2006, inspired by her strong belief in the credit union philosophy of people helping people. With a deep commitment to service, she focuses on educating and empowering members to reach their financial goals, while encouraging others to grow their careers within the credit union movement. Melissa proudly represents TCCU through her work and volunteer efforts.

In recognition of her impact, Melissa was named Southwest CUNA Management School Alumnus of the Year in 2023. She is an Honor Graduate of the class of 2019, received the Distinguished Service Award from the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions in 2018, and was honored as Young Professional of the Year by the Cornerstone Credit Union League in 2017. She also earned her Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation in 2015.

Melissa's leadership spans beyond awards. She served as President of the Southwest CUNA Management School Alumni Association from 2019 to 2022, and has held advisory roles on the Cornerstone League Board (2022–2023) and the Cornerstone Foundation Board (since 2023). Locally, she continues to serve as a Director for the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions, with past roles including Chapter Treasurer and membership on the United Way of Tarrant County Steering Committee, among others.

Melissa is a true believer in people, in second chances, in giving back, and in the credit union mission. When it comes to the industry, she’s all in, all the time.

She leads with a servant’s heart, takes pride in setting an example, and hopes to inspire others; especially her 14-year-old son, Landon.
